PROJECT: OPEN WORKS

Assignment: Devise a project, which incorporates skills from the previous assignments. Each student creates an installation, which has at least one time-based element (of a minimum of five minutes), which can be video, sound or performance. Each project must also have a transmedia (spanning platforms) or multimedia (spanning disciplines) component.

Subject matter and content are chosen by the individual student and genres can include narrative projects, documentary projects, or a project that simply explore a visual, fashion or design idea. However, all projects must meet the technical requirements outlined above. The goal is to explore the expression of an idea through a combination of disciplines and techniques.

Creative Reference: Installations and environmemts by artists such as Doug Aitken, Shirin Neshat, Pipilotti Rist, Eija-Liisa Ahtila, Tony Oursler, and Bill Viola.

Tools: Installation Design, Adobe Creative Suite, physical computing and other student driven skills
